The project

The interventions related to the investments, for which the partnership between the Municipality of Narni and the Province of Terni applies for support, can be summarized as follows:

The project aims to support initiatives aimed at improving the use and the offering of services of a cultural attraction of primary regional interest through:

  • Energy efficiency by replacing lighting fixtures in some internal rooms of the Complex and implementing improvements to enhance visitor safety.

  • Establishment of green spaces inspired by medieval gardens, where educational and recreational services can be provided to tourists and visitors, using multimedia applications.

  • Restoration of the scenic olive grove of the Rocca for aesthetic purposes and fire prevention.

  • Services to enhance soft mobility, including the installation of an e-bike charging rack and the rental of e-bikes with pedal assistance.

All the areas subject to intervention are subject to legal constraints, such as the Law of June 1, 1939, No.1089, which protects things of artistic or historical interest (Rocca Albornoz), as well as indirect protection for the surrounding lands, and the Landscape Constraint under the Decree of June 5, 1956.

The intervention aims to develop actions that enhance the historical, cultural, artistic, architectural, landscape, and social heritage for their priority public use, for tourist or educational-demonstrative purposes.

The described project allows for interventions in various aspects related to the themes pursued by the funding opportunity, with the goal of improving the use of an important cultural attraction by increasing energy efficiency and safety for visitors. It also includes educational entertainment inspired by the theme of medieval gardens and the possibility of reaching nearby natural sites (such as the Gole del Nera, an Natura 2000 area) with soft mobility systems like e-bikes.
